Our Story
Twenty years ago Matt was invited to Homerville, GA to hunt. If it were not for this invite from his friend Buddy Bradford, Florida Boys would not exist. During this time in Georgia, Matt and his family had the amazing opportunity to stay with Buddy and his family for several years.
While living in Georgia, Matt became friends with Jimmy and Suzy Smith. Both of their families became very close. With still not having a home of their won, the oldest daughter of the Smith's, Meg and her husband Dusty graciously let the Knopf's keep their camper on their property until they were able to find a home.
After several years of living in the camper, Matt and his family finally found a home in Argyle, GA.
With hunting still being one of Matt's loves, Jimmy Smith invited him to join a Hunting Club in Cogdell, GA. This was the start of so many relationships that are still in their lives today.
It was during this time with the Hunting Club that Matt got the name, 'Florida Boy.'
the southern charm and hospitality of this small local community captured the heart of Matt and his family and this is why Florida Boys Cook Shack is coming to Georgia.
